Wedding Reception CleanupMake sure your wedding reception site has the names of the rooms you want specified in the contract. Some wedding reception sites have been known to double book wedding receptions. You think you're getting your wedding reception in the grand banquet room you selected. Then, if they book another wedding party larger than yours, they will tell you there was a mistake - That room was taken, and move you to another smaller, less elegant, room.

Another common problem that can occur is booking wedding receptions too close together. When another wedding reception is booked for the same day in the same room as yours, make sure you specify your exact time, from which hour to which hour, allowing enough time for cleanup and take down. If you feel the catering manager or wedding reception coordinator has not allowed enough time fro cleanup or over staying by those attending the first reception, point this out. You don't want your guests to arrive and have to wait in the wings. Remember the more weddings the managers book the more money they make, and sometimes they try to squeeze too many in on the same day.

Remember, too, that set up and take down, especially for more elaborate setups (special wedding decorations, bigger elaborate cakes, wedding DJ sound equipment and lighting) can take some time to set up and to take down. Sometimes it is cheaper to pay for an extra hour of the hall in advance rather than pay for overtime at the hall plus extra labor costs for quicker set up and take down.
